Veterans United Home Loans is seriously the best loan company to go through and they really have your back. They answer your questions and don’t abandon you when you’ve locked in a home and are closing or in that process. They’re supportive and answer all questions quickly and take care of a LOT of things on their end to make your life easier. I will always recommend. Rebecca Fowler made the experience absolutely amazing. She reached out to me at the very beginning and made sure I was comfortable from the start. She was respectful and seemed to truly honestly care about my well being. She was always available, prompt and I could feel her smile through the phone conversations and text. From beginning to end , never wavered. I will remember her as much as buying my property.
We are happy to finally be closed on our loan and to have a lower interest rate. However, the process was rough and very frustrating. Due to not being informed at the beginning of the process that we needed a certain document, it took way longer than it should have, If we had been told of the need for this form, we could have started working on locating it when everything got started and not two days before we were supposed to close the first time. Instead, it took months to locate this form and get it corrected to where we had to pay for inspections AGAIN! VU made it right in the end, but we let them know how angry we were.
Everything went smooth from start to finish. The speed and efficiency was outstanding. I will absolutely recommend VU if the opportunity arises.

I was always under the impression that buying a house would be a very stressful and difficult process. But working with VU completely changed that perspective—it was an unbelievably smooth and straightforward experience. My loan officer, Dustin Johnson, and his team were incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and proactive throughout every step. They always kept me informed, answered all my questions promptly, and made sure I understood everything that was happening.Their professionalism and genuine care turned what could have been a nerve-wracking process into something I actually enjoyed. The only downside to closing on my house is that I won’t get to work with Dustin and his team on a daily basis anymore. I truly can’t recommend them enough to anyone looking to buy a home—they made my dream of homeownership a reality, and I’m so grateful for their support.
I used VU on three separate buys. The first experience was flawless. Ryan Cannon is incredible. He made me want to use VU a second time. That was literally the worst experience I've ever had anywhere. The woman who headed everything up was a (insert explative here)! I thought that this experience was a fluke, so against my better judgement, I used VU a third time. I can't say that the people on the customer facing side was terrible. HOWEVER, VU had in their possession ALL paperwork regarding the home I was buying for almost a month. One week before closing, they throw a water test/inspection on the well water. One week, when they had ALL the info on the house. Thus, delaying signing by over a week. The expertise on your underwriters team is lacking and unprofessional. This never should've happened.
