The overall process went super smooth: from getting my quote to close there were little to no issues and the team helped me the entire way. Ryan truly helped me the entire way and I couldn’t ask for a better loan officer.
Ryan Ashburn was a really a great hand during this experience, he was consistent and showed constant reassurance towards my home. It was a smooth transition as well.
Rayan Ashburn was good at the start then was drooping the ball had a April 1 closeting date which we had a rental so we where forced to rent weekly.(cost us more money. Ryan making excuses think we had 4 different closing dates. Insurance for the property
he offered three different insurance i told him we will take your recommended.(bad mistake)then on are real closing day before said i needed to bring a check for 8400.00
which we did but in shock was had to come up. After the closing date he said he would help find a lower insurance at this point i don't trust him as he should have done this when insurance was brought up the first times (you have access to emails you can judge for your self.
On a good note Carly Kanoa was awesome to deal with....
Response from Veterans United
Hi Leslie,
Thank you for sharing your experience. I’m glad to hear Carly made a positive impact, but I’m really sorry for the frustration you went through with the rest of the process.
Having your closing date change multiple times, especially when it led to extra rental costs, is incredibly stressful. I also understand how concerning it must have been to be asked to bring a significantly higher amount to closing on short notice. That kind of information should be clear and communicated well in advance so you have time to prepare.
I hear your concerns about the insurance as well. You should feel confident in the guidance you’re given, and I’m sorry that trust wasn’t there by the end of your experience.
I’d really like the chance to take a closer look at what happened and review your file in more detail. If you’re open to it, please reach out to me at 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com.
We’re available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central Time, Monday through Friday, and we’ll follow up the next business day if you contact us after hours.
Sincerely,
Claire S., Client Relations Manager
Ryan was great. Knowledgeable, quick to respond, really made the whole finance piece of the process super easy. Would definitely recommend someone to VU.
Ryan Ashburn and Carly Kanoa were amazing. They kept me up-to-date with how the process was going. They did everything they could to get me the best deal possible and ensure my all the paperwork was submitted. Ryan not only made sure I was informed on my current status but my Realtor as well. He definitely made the whole process seem smooth.
The Veterans United Team headed up by Ryan Ashburn has been a life saver for my family and I. They have followed us through the entire process from start to finish. Ryan began before we sold our house in California and helped us through our move here to Hawaii. He suggested realtors and other agencies through our move. After finding a home here in Hawaii he was with us the entire way through the loan process. He assisted us with the Hawaii Disabled Veterans Home tax exemption process and he remains a close friend.
Can’t thank my home buying team enough for all the work they put in to make this an easy process. Moving from Germany to Hawaii was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done but buying a new home while traveling was honestly the easiest part. A huge shout out to Ryan for making sure I understood all the financials and keeping costs at a minimum. Couldn’t be happier with how everything worked out!
