The buying process is smooth and simple. Biggest issues that arise are not from VU at all, but the requirements made for home buying. Still not a big issue if the seller is willing to work with the Veteran buyer. My biggest complaint is the phone system itself. Getting to a rep is hard enough, but it does seem that there is an issue with coherence across the board for the techs. It took almost a full year of working with at least 12 different people to get my mortgage back on track from missing one payment and cost hundreds of dollars in fees that I was mandated to pay, which should not have fallen on me as I did my best to work with the program but it was never followed through with.
An excellent mortgage company that actually cares about the veteran. I hope to stay with Veterans United for the duration of my time on earth.
The whole team was great to work with. Very caring people that really do want to help you get into your new home. They definitely do whatever they can to help you through the whole process.
Jodi and her team are amazing. They are quick to respond to any questions and always keep you up to date on everything that is happening with your loan. It is such an easy process with Veterans United!

I want to emphasize that Garet was very responsive. However, the underwriting department and coordination left something to be desired. We were repeatedly asked for things we had already submitted and had to FIGHT for the house to have the correct city listed. The house DOES have a shared zip code, but being the people who live her, we KNOW the correct village/city. My wife has experience in business and mail beiing returned if the correct city is not listed. Yet we had to fight that.
Everyone was soooo helpful. Always got answers to our questions. So much extra help that was expected. Felt like rock star treatment.
