I was always under the impression that buying a house would be a very stressful and difficult process. But working with VU completely changed that perspective—it was an unbelievably smooth and straightforward experience. My loan officer, Dustin Johnson, and his team were incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and proactive throughout every step. They always kept me informed, answered all my questions promptly, and made sure I understood everything that was happening.Their professionalism and genuine care turned what could have been a nerve-wracking process into something I actually enjoyed. The only downside to closing on my house is that I won’t get to work with Dustin and his team on a daily basis anymore. I truly can’t recommend them enough to anyone looking to buy a home—they made my dream of homeownership a reality, and I’m so grateful for their support.

This was my 2nd experience working with VU and all I can say is wow. My loan team did such an amazing job from start to finish.

They are very professional and get you to the rate what they have promised you.



I had several delays with closing. I get that it happens but found the team working with Wesley Earl to not be proactive in their communication. I also asked for a lower rate since the fed cut rates and was told no. Not sure I’d recommend again. Our first home with VU was great.

I appreciate you taking the time to share this. Closing delays are stressful, and I’m sorry you felt like the communication wasn’t as proactive as it should have been. That’s not the experience I want you to have, especially after things went so smoothly with your first home.
I also hear your frustration about the rate. I know how quickly things can shift when the Fed announces changes, and I’m sorry the options available at the time didn’t line up with what you were hoping for.

The whole Veterans United team that I was assigned to consisted of my loan officer Wesley Earl, my loan specialist Wade Howser, and my loan coordinator Rachel Lenz. The team was amazing at every step. My journey started with Wade who has worked with me checking up on me for almost a year until I was able to get a property under contract. Once that took off, Wesley took rein and progressed me forward along with Rachel making sure the title company, the insurance company, and any other issue was taken care of right up to and even after closing. The great thing is, they informed me that I can contact them anytime for assistance even afterwards. Truly an amazing experience for me.
